Family Hiking

Well, we had a long and gratifying hike in NH today on Sunday. We went up Mt. Sunapee. A few days ago, I saw an ideal weather forecast and encouraged the family to go up north.

For a few years, we skied up there nearly every winter weekend. But, we have never been there in summer, and it was altogether different.

My favorite view up there is of the lake. It is frozen over in the winter. Today, it looked amazing. Sailboats everywhere. An arresting view after a long hike.

On the way home, we stopped for Vietnamese food at Pho 88 in Lowell. It is very close to the highway, which is convenient. We go there after trips north. After a lot of skiing, fishing or hiking, who wants to cook?

The food is great. The service is very good.  I ordered some appetizers for the table. For myself, I ordered a big bowl of noodles.

I put in a lot of chili peppers!

I find that the best days are pretty simple. A long drive with family, a strenuous hike and a simple meal.
