Pentatonix

It was a long day yesterday, but I’m glad a sub-group of our family last night went to see the Pentatonix perform (three videos up top, or here).

They’re a mainstream a cappella group, that does pop, R&B and soul. TD Garden was absolutely packed. It’s amazing how five people, with no musical instruments, can produce such incredible music. Incredibly precise and tight harmonies.

They were so good that I had thought some connected producer created the group. Instead, I learned it was more organic than that. Three of the singers met in high school and started to perform together. They added two others over time, and they won the 2011 NBC Sing Off competition.

Honestly, I’m still pretty bummed about the election. Mrs. T. and I agreed that it was nice to get out, take a mental break, and enjoy some incredible music.
