Father-Daughter Fishing Trip 2018

June 16, 2018June 17, 2018 Jo Tango

We have had a great time up in the NH woods near Canada. While cold and rainy at times, the fish have cooperated, and we landed dozens a day. The scenery has been beautiful, and the river, cold and pure. I look forward all year to coming up here. Each day, I arise early and

Dawn at Back Lake

June 13, 2018June 14, 2018 Jo Tango

The silence is what you notice first. At dawn, at Back Lake up in NH near Canada, there isn’t much happening but for the episodic call from a loon. The water is flat, mirror-like. I am up for an annual father-daughter fly fishing trip. My daughter is still asleep. I am biding my time, happily,

The Gratitude Tour

June 1, 2018June 2, 2018 Jo Tango

Yesterday, I went back to Harvard Business School for an alumni conference, which I found energizing and interesting. Going back was fun, as it made me feel young again. I have fond memories of business school: people were very nice, the professors were nearly always engaging, and many life-long friendships were formed there. I learned

More Hope

May 30, 2018August 29, 2024 Jo Tango

A friend holds a senior admissions position at an Old Ivy. Every year, they’re flooded with applications, and the work load sounds crushing. “It’s OK, though,” my friend said. “Reading these applications gives me hope.” The reason is that there are so many young people doing great things and, upon graduation, are unleashed onto the
