‘If Today Were the Last Day of My Life….’

November 13, 2015May 1, 2024 Jo Tango

@CoachACM recently tweeted out a link to an interesting article. It is called The 10 Best Lines Steve Jobs Used in a Presentation. I really enjoyed the article. One particular quote caught my eye: For the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: “If today were the last day

Getting Over a Lost Love

November 10, 2015November 10, 2015 Jo Tango

I today met up with an entrepreneur with a cool idea. He graduated from college this past May and has been heads-down on his new company. I on Friday read with great sadness about Tom Stemberg’s death. I recalled my last two interactions with him. One was puzzling and the other was comforting. Let me explain. Shortly after announcing that I wanted to quit my job and start a new VC firm, I ran into Tom. “Why leave?” he asked. “It’s

Not Your Average Sunday

October 18, 2015October 18, 2015 Jo Tango

I went away for my autumn fly-fishing weekend. Saturday was tough, as I had to work hard to land four fish. Today, Sunday, was crazy: I caught 62 trout, amidst freezing weather and a few snow squalls. Here is a view of my Saturday morning. I caught quite a few trout, including rainbows, browns, and brookies.
