OK, so one last Super Bowl post from me.
Many players were interviewed after the game, and an interview with Julian Edelman rings particularly true. In it, he talks about his father. It’s a real inspiration to all fathers: encourage and help your children do more than they thought they could.
Here’s a snippet:
[My dad] pushed me to heights that I thought I never could get to. My dad was just a little trailer trash white dude that worked his tail off, didn’t have a dad. He started at working at 14, didn’t get to play sports. He dedicated his life to his kids to let us live our dreams. I love my dad.
You’re an inspiration, Julian! Many said you couldn’t play in college or the NFL, but you proved them wrong. You’re a champion now. Enjoy the off-season.
