It took a small miracle, two laptops, five hours, and a savvy daughter to tell me what to do, but we scored Taylor Swift tickets when they were put on sale. Last night was the show, and we had a great time.
My daughter’s friend joined us, and it was a lot of fun to see them so happy. We left for Gillette Stadium at 1:45 pm and got home at 2 am. Honestly, it was all worth it. There was so much joy at the concert, and it seemed that everyone knew all the words to all of the songs except for me.
I really liked her set list, particularly songs from “folklore” and “evermore,” which she wrote during the pandemic lockdown. She didn’t sing it, but I am a big fan of the version of “exile” below. I’m a sucker for sad love songs, and this one is particularly moving.
It could be an act, but Taylor seemed very sincere and excited to be there. She spoke very openly about how she dealt with the pandemic and how her music is her way to process powerful emotions. I can relate. I don’t have musical ability, but my way to process things is through writing.
I will always cherish this concert: to be with my daughter and to see her so joyful.
