Happy Thanksgiving Eve!
We are fortunate that all of our children have traveled home from near and far for the holiday. As a parent, one of the highlights each year is when we all can be together, which has become rare these days.
For the home-cooks reading this, good luck!
For those of us with complicated childhoods, holidays can be, well, pretty complicated. There are many of us out there. I’ve been fortunate to have had 1,200 students, many of whom I’ve met during office hours. For me, cooking holiday meals is a form of escape as well as to give a gift to my children.
If you have family members who are gluten-free, here are some recipes that might be helpful. Some are proven recipes that I use each year. A few are experiments. Here they are:
- Ina Garten’s Perfect Roast Turkey
- Make-ahead gluten-free gravy
- Egg-free gluten-free bread
- Baked ham with brown sugar glaze (I recommend a bone-in spiral ham)
- Gluten-free vegan cinnamon rolls
Best wishes for a wonderful Thanksgiving!
