‘Boys in the Boat’ and Human Rights

January 8, 2016May 1, 2024 Jo Tango

I recently read Boys in the Boat, and I highly recommend it. The book chronicles a group of working-class men who learn how to row, compete for the University of Washington, and eventually, represent the USA at the 1936 Olympics in Nazi Germany. If you liked Unbroken and Seabiscuit, I think you’ll really like this book.

Living the Cave Man VC Life

January 4, 2016January 4, 2016 Jo Tango

I recently read the book Sapiens and really enjoyed it. Author Yuval Harari does an incredible job of covering 2 million years of human development. Whether you are Christian or not, this day can be meaningful for all.  I think the principles of Christmas (peace on earth and good will towards all people) can hold true for everyone. If we can be more decent with

Good Cheese

December 21, 2015February 28, 2022 Jo Tango

I think one of the best things about being limited by spastic back pain (more here) has been this: mental clarity. With my new physical limitations, in a weird way, I feel more observant. I am very conscious of every move that I make, as I lay in bed all day. I wonder if the slightest movement
