I am fortunate to have some fly-fishing buddies who are expert anglers, and one of them organized an outing in Maine. Last weekend, we rented a small house on the river and hauled food with us, as there wasn’t much up there.
That area was beautiful. We traversed quite a few dirt roads and saw moose and deer. We fortunately caught oodles of big fish, all of which were wild. That meant that some had stunning colors, and all fought like missles.
We cooked dinner at night after fishing 12 hours a day. Then, we awoke before dawn to make PB&J sandwiches for lunch and again hit the river.
During one evening, Divine Providence seemed to shine on us. I took a photo and saw only later that the sun appeared as a cross. It really was an unforgettable trip.
Fish and friends. What a great weekend.
