Well, this is interesting. My back seized up last night. I mean, really bad.
It has not happened in a long time, in fact, in quite a few years. Fortunately, I know what to do: do not move. And, I’ve taken a muscle relaxant.
I used to see a chiropractor every week. He prescribed some back stretches for me. I stopped doing them a while ago, thinking I was cured. I guess it’s time to go back to those stretches.
So I am here today, lying in bed. I called in for the Monday morning partners’ meeting. Fortunately, I am all caught up on office work and meetings. Still, it feels so strange to be mentally alert but physically incapacitated. When you have the flu, you’re lying in bed all day but your mind is pretty shot. Right now, I feel alert but I really can’t move. So, I am reading. And, trying not to be frustrated.
One good thing is I’ve stumbled on David Lebovitz’s blog. A former chef, he now lives in Paris, blogging about life there amidst such amazing history and food. I loved our family trip to France and a bike trip in the Loire region two summers ago. So many great memories.
So, while I’m confined to bed, my mind is in Paris. That’s not a bad spot.
