Just dropped off our daughter at the airport. Am so proud of her as she starts a new job in California!
She didn’t “settle” on either geography or job and turned down some great offers. She received her opportunity after untold networking Zoom sessions.
I tried not to shed tears at the airport (failed miserably). Am trying to look at the bright side (kinda working?).
After these decades, parenting continues to be a mystery to me, particularly during these fulcrum points. Pride and heartbreak. Joy and longing. Sweat and relief. All these things, all at the same time.
I miss you already, dear daughter! I love you and love you forever!
