Moving to North Dakota

September 4, 2014September 4, 2014 Jo Tango

A high school classmate, Doug Stagnaro, has moved. He and his family have gone from Montgomery County, Maryland (1MM people) to Mylo, North Dakota (20 people).  Yes, 20 people. He bought a 20-acre farm. His neighbors are mostly Mennonites.  The local public school, from kindergarten to senior year of high school, numbers 41 students. New neighbors

What Is Your Self-Worth?

September 3, 2014November 11, 2018 Jo Tango

Amidst the high tech and start-up circles, you run into a lot of driven, super-educated and dynamic folks. It’s a Type A crowd. Some are already quite wealthy. Yet, I know some of them are quite unhappy. I’ve been very involved with all of my business school class reunions, and so, I get to keep

A shipping company used energy to pick/pack/ship. And, I drove my car to the grocery store to buy the coffee, and just used a coffee maker

Barbie Doll Brainwashing

August 27, 2014February 28, 2022 Jo Tango

Holy crap, I officially am freaked out. A Barbie Doll recently arrived in the mail at our house. “Whoa!” one of my children said, as the package was opened. “Freaky–the eyes are so big, and the legs are so long.” I’ve never paid much attention to dolls and subliminal messages they send about “ideal” body
