I’m a parent. I’m not a perfect one, but I do try and remember to take it seriously. I know that you likely are becoming numb to this election cycle. But, I think the video below is very important, not because of a political message, but because of a parenting message.
Persistence

Fried Rice
I’m the household manager this week. Mrs. T. is out of town. It will be a quiet dinner tonight. Our oldest just went to college. Our other teens are out with a friend. So, it’s just our youngest child and I at home for dinner. Frankly, it is weird to have the house so quiet.
College Drop-Off
An empty bedroom, dark and unusually tidy. One fewer place setting at dinner. A piano no longer played daily. To My Children
Dear Children, Thank you for accommodating Mother and me. We have had a great time this weekend in Back Bay and will be coming home around lunch time. We spent Friday evening walking around Back Bay and visiting some art galleries. The streets were full with many newly-arrived college students. We had a nice dinner
